Christmas Spirit

Mason was getting ready for school, and he was wanting to know why it had not snowed yet... well all of a sudden the rain that had been falling turned into snow.

He said it was his "Christmas Spirt" that made it snow. I have to say, I beleive him.

Holding on to hope...

As things start to get you down, its important that you stay focused on the goals you want, and not the feelings that you don't. I know it is so much easier to say then to do. I urge you to do what you can to keep the dream alive, and the passion you know you have to give. Do not let the fire go out inside you, and you will make it to the next day and the one after that.
Safe journey and I hope the fire that is your passion burns just a little brighter today then it did yesterday.

Success is the Reward

Do you know those people that have their little "catch phrase" that they use? You know, they use the word "cool" or "ya know what I mean"... all the time.
Well, I would like to ask you, what is your "catch phrase" for your success, your future goals?
Do you tell yourself "I'm a winner, I'm a winner.." or I'm enough. Do you tell yourself how successful you are and your not even aware of the fact that your saying it?
What catch phrase do you use to build your success, you should have one, because it helps you to put the thought into your sub conscience that suggestive pattern that its okay to succeed. Its not the new car that you are truly excited about, its the success that you achieved that allowed you the car. So keep your success in your daily conversations, and know that daily success is your reward.

Belief- Not just for Breakfast anymore...

How many times during a day do you take time to give build your belief in yourself? Now if your reading this, your someone that does take time to study personal development, and you want more of what you want, and less of what you don't. :-)
So see how you would answer the question that I asked.
The hard part is, How do I build my Belief? Its all about being in the moment, and know that how you feel about you, how you feel about your situation and if you really know where the next moment is going to take you. Is how your feeling right now the way you want to feel in an hour? A Day? A Year?!!1
Your belief will be built on this moment, and do you believe you are moving towards your goal. The great news is, if you realize that you are not.. well you can change that. Start right this moment, to give hope to yourself, know that you are on the right track, and watch your belief grow. Happy Belief Day!!!

The Need to Make a Decision

Michelle had to go to school today to help run the "ticket store" for the Elementary School Mason attends. Well here is the story. The children all get tickets for doing good things, it a reward system. Every 2 weeks they get to take the tickets and turn them in for some kind a "goodie"... penny kind stuff. So Michelle is running the store, Mason comes up and he is 4 tickets short (20 min for the stuff). So in hopes of avoiding a melt down, she told him he only needed to get 4 more tickets.
Now get this, inside of the next 2 hrs he was able to work his magic and get 4 tickets. Then the real decision came. He wanted 2 different items, each 20 tickets. So time was running out, and he had to make 1 of 3 choices. Item 1 or Item 2 or Keep the tickets for a whole 2 weeks and get something bigger then.

Well you can only imagine the stress that is on a 5 year old for have to make the choices.. when you know as well as I do, he wants it all and wants it now.

Well he kept the tickets so he could have both in 2 weeks.

Point to the story... How many tickets are you away from your goal? What are you going to do to get them? And when you get them, and maybe realize that you have just the minimum, will you trade them in for and okay thing now to feel good, or wait to get the real prize you want?

I guess it is true, Everything you needed to know you can learn in Kindergarten!!!

Who moved your Cheese?

I just did a call this morning as I do every morning for an Energy Dereg sales force that I work with, and we talked briefly about this. It was funny but the book I took this material from was on that my 5 year old son brought home from his school library.

Who Moved My Cheese? (for Kids).

I really enjoyed reading about Sniff, Scurry, Hem and Haw. So the question is, Have you found your Cheese lately, are you sitting in Cheese Station C waiting from them to bring you your old cheese back?

Go out today and find your Cheese, Smell it make sure its the New Cheese you were looking for, cause if you have the old cheese still, well maybe your not really looking.
Have a Cheesey Day...

Grass is alwasy Greener...(you know the rest)

I wanted to share this old saying. It strikes me that someone can actually think it will be easier doing the same thing, but in a different place.
I had a gentleman today who wanted to "switch teams". He was telling me how much better it would be if he was with team X as opposed to team Y. I just can't imagine the lack of forward thinking in this situation.
Make sure that if you are excited about something, that you stick to it right where you are, and you will be glad you did.

Commitment and Leverage 30 Days to Success

I was asked to do a training call for about 100 people this past Monday. The topic was: 30 Days to Success.

I did my training that takes each letter of the 2 words and gives some specifics that people need to really focus on for the next 30 days.
Example:
C= Clarify your Why
O= Organize your Goals

I did that for each letter in each word, I love this training because it takes the 2 key words that people really want to understand and it gives them an action plan.

I hope the next 30 days for you bring your tremendous Success and Joy.

Keeping up...

The challenge with most tools that can bring you value, is understanding the need to develop the habit of use. My goal is to get posts out each day to use this to my advantage. I have accomplished so many new things since my last post, I have just missed sharing it with you. I will do better. Thanks

Independence
With July 4th just around the corner, I started thinking about what it really means to be independent. I don't think we can ever get a real solid understanding and here is my though why.

Right now, you are reading this, you are dependent on your computer, how about the chair your sitting in, or the shoes you are wearing.

Even if we are all by ourselves, we are still dependent on the air we breath, or the food we eat. So when I hear people say, I want to be free, I want my own Independence, I kind of chuckle.

Its my opinion that the world is so much more fun when you can learn to live knowing that those around you bring you joy, they bring you value, they give you something to look forward to.

As the 4th of July comes to us here today, remember that our Independence was arrived at by a small group of people being dependent upon each other. Who do you depend on to help you make your dreams come true?

Have a great day, thanks for the smiles you have been sharing, for they showed up today.

Getting Clear

Its my perception that most of the challenge that people are facing these days, is the ability to focus. Let me see if I can explain it so it makes sense.

Stress, Concern, Anxiety, Frustration... all these and many more have us moving between 3 worlds very rapidly and by doing so creates a tremendous amount of confusion.

What are the 3 Worlds? I knew you might ask. Each one is a unique time in space, the Old World, is the Past... The Current World is the Present, and the Future World is, well, the Future.

If you do not stay focused on the tasks you have right in front of you, the activities that are building your future right now, you may miss out on something great.

Here is what happens. When in a less the truly happy place, we think about the things we could have done, or maybe what we might do different if the opportunity presents it self. You have moved from the past to the future, and while in both those mindsets, you skipped over the present, and are choosing not to be in the present.

I recommend that you do what you can to say in the Now, the here of this moment. It is there that you can influence the possible future outcomes.

Get clear on what you want and make sure that what you are doing now will bring value to that goal.

Take the next 63 seconds and focus right now.. on a goal you want, then take action on what you can do starting on the 64th second to move towards it.

Mother's Day - Has come and gone...

I can tell you from experience that peoples dreams many times are just like Holidays or special days for recognition.
Let me see if I can explain it enough to make sense.
I have a 5 year old son, Mason, and he is such a great teacher for me, it is the understanding that he has that makes this example work.

He really wants it to be his birthday, and almost everyday he asks, or even says that "tomorrow is my birthday, I have waited long enough." We have to explain to him that his b-day is not for a few months.

What does this have to do with peoples dreams? Its about always looking forward to a future event, the excitement, all the "what if" kind of thoughts and suddenly it shows up! And we come to find out that its over so quick, that we may feel we missed out on some of the event.

I have witnessed people talking about what they will do when... and if they only had this or that it would make such a big difference. Only to eventually get the "this or that" they were wanting... and nothing changes.

Make sure that you are keeping your targets in focus, that you have moved everyday closer to your destination and that you keep checking your compass to make sure that you continue on the right track.
If you do that, they you will know when you are getting closer, you will know what to look for when it gets there, and you will be able to leverage that day more then you ever thought possible.
Don't let your dreams come and go.

Twitter - Follow Friday's

Once again Twitter takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary.

Each Friday on Twitter is Follow Friday. It the opportunity to recommend other Twitterer's people you feel make good people to follow. The basis on how this is determined is completely personal.
Meaning you may find someone funny, or great info how ever you make that choice. Then you can send out a tweet in your "update" area with the suggestions.

Its Twitterquet (twitter etiquette) to put the @ symbol in front of each suggestion. This allows those that see the tweet to be able to click on them and follow them right from your update.

So if your on Twitter- Suggest some great follows for others.

If your not on twitter, then get on it, and see who gets recommended to you. Don't be surprised to see your own name tweeted out.

Till the next event

The Power of Focus

Can you remember the last time that you were so focused that you did not even remember the time, or even to eat? I would guess for most of you, it was not within the last 24 hours. Here is why I say that.

We have a tendency to just walk through life, and there are moments that require us to sprint. Then there are those moments that cause us to stop and make a decision to muscle all our energy to complete a task and nothing else matters. It appears as if everything else in the world has stopped.

We all know it has not stopped, in fact the world has continued to move along like it always has. The only difference is that we were not distracted by outside influences. We maintained a focus we are always capable of, but don't always use.

I would suggest that you spend more time getting completely focused on tasks and you will be amazed at how you move forward towards you goals faster then you ever have in the past.

If I can share some ways to begin to train your brain to allow you to focus, I will put some here.

1. Put your hand out in front of you and look at the back of it. See how long you can take in the picture of your hand until you get a "thought" other then your hand.

2. Think of one of your short term goals. Pay attention to the distracting thoughts that come into your mind. Recognize it, then see yourself pushing it away with your hand, get back to the thought of your goal and begin to see the moment in time, when the goal is complete. What will if feel like, who else is excited about it, what is the next thing you do after you know you have completed it.

3. Focus on your breath, but picture you are looking at your breath just as it is entering and exiting your nose. Your right there on edge of your nose and you can see each inhale and exhale.

These seem strange at first, as Dr Wayne Dyer says:

"Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change."

Change the way you look at Focus, and Focus will become a power part of your everyday tasks.

Thanks for being here, do me a favor. Smile as much as you can, because they will all show up in my life.

Home Business

This is a topic that generate over 2,700,000 searches just last month. With the economy the way it is, and the 70+ year history of the Network Marketing arena, there are going to be some companies that explode their business. That is the good news.

What to know the bad news? There are going to be some companies that explode their business.
Why would I say that's a bad thing, let me see if I can do a good enough job to explain it here in this blog.

The good news is simple, people are looking for an extra way to generate income, and this is the most effective way of doing that, meaning finding a Network Marketing company that makes sense to you and being apart of it.

Why it could be a bad thing is this. Many people will join and not have the right mind set, or the best training to help make sure they succeed. Its easy to get started, its easy to talk about, at least for the 1st month. Then it gets more difficult, and the pressures of the not producing like you thought you could start to become a reality no one really wants to see.

So then its the challenge of having to re-commit yourself to the project and start again. That's not always easy or truthfully, what you really want to do.

So how do you avoid the pitfalls.. make you you have someone holding you accountable, make sure you have a system that you can you to track your progress. This is critical. Just like you step onto a scale to monitor your weight if your are dieting, you want to have something as simple to ensure your success in your new business.

I hear it said once at an event I was speaking at, "Don't treat your Million Dollar business like a hobby, and you'll have an income to pay for all your hobbies."

If you would like a simple review of your business plan, or would like to learn how to best put an accountability plan in place, feel free to contact me at sean@seangmurphy.com make sure you put "plan review" in the email subject line.

Or you can go to my website, www.SeanGMurphy.com and learn more there, and request your No-Fee Mentorship call.

Twitter - Bringing value

What a phenomenon!
This is becoming a not only a household name, but a business tool as well. The challenge is that there are so many people that don't know how to use this as an effective tool, without sounding like a pitch man, or woman!

I hope I can share with you thoughts as I see them, and not as hard and fast rules. Twitter is a way for you to hear, be heard, and learn what is happening inside of a group of minds you choose to follow. That is it in a nut shell.

You begin with an account, then you have to 'update' what you are doing. The challenge is, what to say in the beginning. Well, say whatever your doing, "setting up my account, hello twitterland".
There are so many ways to find a segment of people that you feel you can connect with, "find people" in the tool bar on your page. Go there, and type in a word you might want to find. Lets see you could put, -success, meditation, money, opportunity, technical, military... get the idea?

Now you find some folks, and you can review their info, and choose to follow them. You will now begin to get their tweets as they are called.

Usually they will also follow you back, and then when you give an Update, they will be receivers of your info.

The key is to bring value. Think of it this way... they are following you, make sure you lead them with valuable information, so they continue to follow you. Its a volunteer army that is following, they can leave at any time.

Wishing you the best, and know that you are special to me, and those that love you. Make a difference.

Building your personal Brand

So what is it that you are known for? How do you want others to know you. No matter who you are, or what you do, you have a brand you are creating. Its who you are when you are in your home, in your business, at your grocery store... your brand is the expression others have of you.

So do what you can to define your brand.

What you read, what you eat, what you believe, who you say hello... all these are part of the brand that people will remember you by.

If you would like to work on your brand, I would be happy to give you some ideas.

Looking forward to bringing value, and until then,

Orlando - The Home of Mickey Mouse

Getting some sun in Orlando, had some great times here over the past few days.  Training is incredible with Stephen Pierce, what an amzaing experience he has and whats really powerful it his desire to share with all his knowledge to learn more to have more.

I got to spend some time with my Dad this weekend while I was here, he actually came over to the Orlando area and stayed with me. It was great to see him.

How many times in your life have you wished you did something, something you can look at with "hindsight" and know it would have made a difference?

What are you thinking about doing now, something that might be a reach for you, something that would, for sure, put you out of your comfort zone? All I can tell you our would like to share with you is that its about the moments that we wonder about that make up our life, its the wonderous moments that change our life that we should all live by.
Well this weekend was one of those wonderous ones for me, being with Daddy, thats what we boys still call him.

I hope today finds you closer to your goals, closer to your dreams, and right in the middle of a moment that you will remember for the rest of your life.

High School Quote, If I only knew?...

Taking a break in the Lobby of the Omni Hotel here in Los Angeles, I had this urge to share some personal thoughts.
More on the Stephen Pierce Tour coming later... smiles

Over the past few weeks, there have been many additions to my life that made me realize the reality of my old High School quote in my Senior yearbook.

"You never know how important your Friends are till they are gone".

My Mom passed last month, and I have to tell you, I can't think of any better friend I had in my life, and I have heard other say the same about her... She was and is today a friend that can never be replaced, for that I'm grateful.. Love you Mom!!!

So back to the quote... I think its a pretty cool quote to know that I said that over 25 years ago, that it would have meaning today.

What would have been really cool, is if I could have been really prophetic and add this to it..

... "Or how great it feels to get your friends back"!!! Now that would have been OUTSTANDING if I said that then.

I share this because I have not had the great joy of getting to know some of my old friends again.. cousins I have not spoken to in many many years!

My Mom had much to do with this, and I love her for that to.

So what is message? What ever you think about and Thank about, you bring about!
Don't let time slip by saying you "Should have" or you "Could have".. I can tell the joy I feel getting know my family again is a powerful.

Who do you want to get to know again, maybe its yourself!!! JUST DO IT!!!

Thanks for the smiles you shared yesterday, they showed up today for me...

Just over the NEXT Mountain

I can only imagine what the early settlers would say after they crossed one of the mini mountain
ranges along thier trip. As they apporached, "its just on the other side of that range", only to find another one

on down the way.
The state line actually was in the middle of a river as we were crossing a bridge on I-10, then headed on into LA.

It has been quite some time since I have made the "drive", and for those of you that have made this DRIVE,

Driving from Texas out to Los Angeles is an amazing trip and one to be done only once in a lifetime...

My brother Jimmy and I made this trip almost 20 years ago, but we started in Tampa Florida, and drove for 56 hours straight thru... that was more then anyone should have to do... but we did it.

This picture is of the coach sitting in the parking lot behind the hotel, its kind of hard to make out, I will take some more pictures in the day, its $100 a night to park it there... OMG
We are staying at the Omni Hotel in downtown LA, here I am in the room, I can see the bus from here, they were nice enough to give a room so I can watch my baby down there... :)

Not sure what to expect!

I have been on stage for 3 days, with groups as large as 3,000 people, having live simultanious translatoins into 9 different lanuages. I have been on camera, live feed around the world, taping for DVD trianings, but I am not sure what to expect with camera crews for a reality TV show. There is no 'take 2' with this format, or "that didn't sound that good, let me use some different words".

It is going to be a very interesting 10 days on this first leg of the trip, from Dallas, to Phoenix then on to Los Angeles, next to Las Vegas, back into Oklahoma some where, then back into Dallas.

With camera crews in the bus, and 2 or maybe 3 chasers following.. I can only imagine the footage they will have from this single trip alone.

It's about a real "Rags to Riches" story about a power house of a man, his name is on the bus.

Looking forward to the experience, and there is no telling what tomorrow will bring, I do know that it will be an amazing day, and by the grace of God, another sunset is in my future.

Focus - You already have it, don't you?

As a person that has spent many hours in front of people giving training, as well as time spent on the phone training large groups, I often get the question, How do  I get more focused?

The answer is, you may not want to get more focused! Let me explain.

Focus is not the missing tool you are looking for, now that is my perception, let me see if I can explain this clear enough to make sense.

What you are doing right now is giving you results, right? So you are already focused on something. The challenge is that you may want to have different results! So its not getting more focused, its changing your activities, that's a different process, its changing your Why belief, that's a different process.

I would have to believe that you don't sit around wondering what to do, or have time in your day that is completely void of any activity, so its a matter of putting things in priority order that will move you continually towards your goal.

It is my belief that you are looking to be more accountable for your actions. Its my belief that you want to have a different vision for the future that you can monitor daily.  Because you are achieving your goals everyday, they just may be someone else's goals, and that's the frustrating part.

Learn more about Accountability, have more of what you want and less of what you don't, it may help you to have a Goals Review session with me, visit www.seangmurphy.com and you will be amazed what positive feelings you will have after the NO-FEE 40 minute session. Its my gift to you and all that are looking to you for support.

Get OVER and Get ON with your life

The title means,
Get OVER yourself, and get ON with your life. All to often we want to keep our self at the center of a situation, if it is good or bad.

I just finished a training call I was invited to, I was the guest speaker if you will. I wanted to share with you the perspective I left the call with, if that is okay.

There were different levels of experience in the room, and what I learned after the call, is that all to often we have a tendency to project our personal thoughts on to situations that we have little or no control over. The key is to stay focused on what you want out of life, clearly define if what you are doing, and about to do is going to move you closer, then do it!

What you do is all up to you! I wanted to share that thought and hope that today you are moving in the direction that will make your life better, and that is only possible if you are bringing value to others.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next event,

Taking a break

Right now, as you go through all the activities that you do on a daily basis, do yourself a favor, take a break. Its the simple Law of Diminishing returns, there will come a point that you can no longer bring value to your goals, and you start to loose sight, or have an energy drain.

In each part of the day, do what you can to take 5 minutes just for you, sit quietly, or have your favorite book to read, take a walk. You have to do something, or you wind up taking the 2 steps back on your way towards your success.

This is something that I have used to my advantage, and it has worked for me, I sure hope it brings you value as well.
Until our next visit,

Accountability

You know what I find fascinating? People that attend trainings and then do nothing with the information. Let me explain. In the past week I have put together a couple of Accountability Training, and had so many attending it was incredible.

What I found was interesting was when I pushed the audience to make a decision to take action, on a very simple NO COST, mind you, task, only a handful took action.
It was a real eye opener to see how much we are not willing to hold ourselves accountable for our personal success.

I have added 1 additional call next week for those if you who would like to be able to participate in this training. If you want to listen in you can go to www.gotowebinar.com on the left side is JOIN MEETING - click there and enter ID # 720903708 and your in.
The training is Tuesday night - 7pm Central time - let me know what you thought.

Take time today to make sure you are moving closer to your goal, and not farther away.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next event,

Making a Difference, for yourself !

I hope as you read this message that you find yourself in the best of health and with success finding you at every turn.

This past week was not like any I have experienced before in my life, I dealt with the passing of my Mom. Now what really made this hit home were the moments of, as my Mom would call it, "should of's and could of's". In my career of being a Coach, a Mentor and even on the Executive side for a while, I trained and taught people to always take accountability for their actions. Its what I do as a Worldclass Accoutability trainer, but there I was thinking of moments and times that I could have maybe done more.

I share this both as a personal reminder as well as nudge for all of us to do all that you can to make a difference for yourself. In doing so you will then be able to bring more to those you want to bring more to.

Take the time to take care of you, I talk about it in trainings as "filling up your glass", do what you can to be whole, and watch how you will have more to give away. It really does make a difference when as Stephen Covey calls it.. 'sharpen the saw', that time to allow yourself to grow.

I wish you the time to make a difference for yourself, because as soon as you do others will want you to teach them how to do it as well.

I look foward to seeing you, and hearing you at the next event.

What might you miss?

I have been lucky to have a very strong family connection, and I have to tell you that I am not sure what my life would have been like nor would I want to contemplate not having that relationship. I share this with you in wake of the passing of my Mother. It was a very real reminder that no matter what you think you can do, or could do or even should do... time does not wait for anyone.

I only want you to say I'm glad I did, and not I wish I would have.

Make sure you look at each day and realize that time is the most precious thing we have and you can not ever get it back. Please don't miss out on a moment that could create a lifetime of memories. Make today count for you, take inventory of what you spend your time on. I know I have a new Angel to send my prayers to, I wish you all the best.

Twitter- What I learned

Twitter has been a very interesting tool, I know I am just starting to understand the power of the system. There are some "power" twitter's like @chrisbrogan (twitter handle) http://www.chrisbrogan.com/. He has 40,574 followers. Its amazing to how can keep up with many of the things that you find interesting. I found tech tools to help with building my site, and you can track news and even our President, Barrack.
Then there you can learn from others about some powerful world changing events, that most would miss out on. The event I am talking about is @twestival http://twestival.com/. They are working on an event to promote www.CharityWater.org. Thier goal is to raise $250,000 USD to help build wells and 100% of the funds are used to build the wells. I watched in just a matter of a few days the numbers and loactions sore from around the world to participate life changing event.

This is a perfect example of people who what things to be different, they are going to hold themselves accountable to take the actions necessary to achieve thier goal. This is a first of its kind event, so everyone is begining a task that is new, they are going to work through all of the unknow to reach the goals. This is because their Why is bigger then the how.

What are you going to stand for? There is an saying, If you don't stand for something, then you will fall for anything! Pick something, hold yourself accountable and reach new levels of success.

Thanks so much for being here,
