Waking up to Success. It has nothing to do with an alarm clock!

Waking up to success, as I am talking about it here, means being aware. There are so many things that pass our way that could change our lives, its just we are to busy being busy to even notice it. Sometimes its even worse then than, we see the opportunity and its wearing the dreadful disguise called WORK!

You will be surprised if you stay tuned in to your goals, and you review you daily actions, you will find very quickly there are many opportunities that come your way to bring you the success that you are so much wishing for.

Be safe today, keep your eyes open, and allow the opportunities of success to wake you up and take you to the next step.

Weekend - Why it's so hard to win!

I hear almost everyday from so many people, its no wonder so many folks find it hard to reach their goals. Now before you get all mad at me, let me explain. The phrase that I hear all to often is.."I can't wait for the weekend".

For some reason we have talked ourselves into believe that we only have 5 days of work, then we can take a 2 day vacation. Now I know just a well as the next guy, there are so many other things to do during the weekend, thinks like errands, house work, take care of the lawn. I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about skipping out on your goals.

Even though your income may have stopped at 5pm on Friday, it will benefit you in the long run if you still keep an eye in your goals. Spend some time reading on a topic that will move you to wards your goals, spend time planning your week, or reviewing your week. All of these things will help to keep you in the 3% club. 3% of your time, your money, will keep you in the TOP 3% of the income for your field. The biggest challenge is that so few spend 3% of those things to get there.

Don't let the weekend keep you from your dreams. Work hard, play hard, and don't loose site of your goals... EVER.

Where will your success come from today?

So here you are reading this blog, and the question I have for you, is "Where will your success come from today?"

See there is no doubt that your lifetime of success is built on daily activities, I hope you would agree with that. If you don't agree with that, well then this will be a short read for you. :-)

What activity can you do today that will move you toward you success, do you have your list of goals for review, your monthly, quarterly or yearly goals. The key is knowing that as you do activities during the day, are you working on your "Income or Outcome".

See if your focused on Income, it seems that you always come up short on your funds. I have found that if you focus on your "Outcome" you have a much better experience in your life. More about that in another "mind dump" of mine.

So know that today is a small part of your success, and it can only do 1 of 2 things, it will either move you closer or move your farther away from your ultimate outcome.

Thanks for your smiles,

Belief - Is it what you Know or what you Feel

Belief by its very nature is based upon the knowledge someone else says to be true. So do you need to know to Believe or do you feel Belief?
Im sorry I can't answer that one for you, I can only share my perception on this. I would say that if you have a feeling of something, it's much harder to be talked out of it, as opposed to knowing something.
I look to nature and the animals for some input on this. I have a feeling that my dogs don't know I'm coming home when I leave, I do know they are sure glad to see me when I do come home. So do they know or believe I'm coming home?
I can tell you this, I would rather feeling over knowing most any day. I would rather feel the Sun then know the sun is warm. I would rather feel Mason's love then to know he loves me, and the same with Michelle.
So all I can give you on this one is, if you have the chance to combine knowing with believing... well just hold on, cause you are in for some fun.
I wish you knowledge and feelings that will brighten you days for a life time.

Christmas Spirit

Mason was getting ready for school, and he was wanting to know why it had not snowed yet... well all of a sudden the rain that had been falling turned into snow.

He said it was his "Christmas Spirt" that made it snow. I have to say, I beleive him.

Holding on to hope...

As things start to get you down, its important that you stay focused on the goals you want, and not the feelings that you don't. I know it is so much easier to say then to do. I urge you to do what you can to keep the dream alive, and the passion you know you have to give. Do not let the fire go out inside you, and you will make it to the next day and the one after that.
Safe journey and I hope the fire that is your passion burns just a little brighter today then it did yesterday.

Success is the Reward

Do you know those people that have their little "catch phrase" that they use? You know, they use the word "cool" or "ya know what I mean"... all the time.
Well, I would like to ask you, what is your "catch phrase" for your success, your future goals?
Do you tell yourself "I'm a winner, I'm a winner.." or I'm enough. Do you tell yourself how successful you are and your not even aware of the fact that your saying it?
What catch phrase do you use to build your success, you should have one, because it helps you to put the thought into your sub conscience that suggestive pattern that its okay to succeed. Its not the new car that you are truly excited about, its the success that you achieved that allowed you the car. So keep your success in your daily conversations, and know that daily success is your reward.

Belief- Not just for Breakfast anymore...

How many times during a day do you take time to give build your belief in yourself? Now if your reading this, your someone that does take time to study personal development, and you want more of what you want, and less of what you don't. :-)
So see how you would answer the question that I asked.
The hard part is, How do I build my Belief? Its all about being in the moment, and know that how you feel about you, how you feel about your situation and if you really know where the next moment is going to take you. Is how your feeling right now the way you want to feel in an hour? A Day? A Year?!!1
Your belief will be built on this moment, and do you believe you are moving towards your goal. The great news is, if you realize that you are not.. well you can change that. Start right this moment, to give hope to yourself, know that you are on the right track, and watch your belief grow. Happy Belief Day!!!

The Need to Make a Decision

Michelle had to go to school today to help run the "ticket store" for the Elementary School Mason attends. Well here is the story. The children all get tickets for doing good things, it a reward system. Every 2 weeks they get to take the tickets and turn them in for some kind a "goodie"... penny kind stuff. So Michelle is running the store, Mason comes up and he is 4 tickets short (20 min for the stuff). So in hopes of avoiding a melt down, she told him he only needed to get 4 more tickets.
Now get this, inside of the next 2 hrs he was able to work his magic and get 4 tickets. Then the real decision came. He wanted 2 different items, each 20 tickets. So time was running out, and he had to make 1 of 3 choices. Item 1 or Item 2 or Keep the tickets for a whole 2 weeks and get something bigger then.

Well you can only imagine the stress that is on a 5 year old for have to make the choices.. when you know as well as I do, he wants it all and wants it now.

Well he kept the tickets so he could have both in 2 weeks.

Point to the story... How many tickets are you away from your goal? What are you going to do to get them? And when you get them, and maybe realize that you have just the minimum, will you trade them in for and okay thing now to feel good, or wait to get the real prize you want?

I guess it is true, Everything you needed to know you can learn in Kindergarten!!!

Who moved your Cheese?

I just did a call this morning as I do every morning for an Energy Dereg sales force that I work with, and we talked briefly about this. It was funny but the book I took this material from was on that my 5 year old son brought home from his school library.

Who Moved My Cheese? (for Kids).

I really enjoyed reading about Sniff, Scurry, Hem and Haw. So the question is, Have you found your Cheese lately, are you sitting in Cheese Station C waiting from them to bring you your old cheese back?

Go out today and find your Cheese, Smell it make sure its the New Cheese you were looking for, cause if you have the old cheese still, well maybe your not really looking.
Have a Cheesey Day...

Grass is alwasy Greener...(you know the rest)

I wanted to share this old saying. It strikes me that someone can actually think it will be easier doing the same thing, but in a different place.
I had a gentleman today who wanted to "switch teams". He was telling me how much better it would be if he was with team X as opposed to team Y. I just can't imagine the lack of forward thinking in this situation.
Make sure that if you are excited about something, that you stick to it right where you are, and you will be glad you did.

Commitment and Leverage 30 Days to Success

I was asked to do a training call for about 100 people this past Monday. The topic was: 30 Days to Success.

I did my training that takes each letter of the 2 words and gives some specifics that people need to really focus on for the next 30 days.
Example:
C= Clarify your Why
O= Organize your Goals

I did that for each letter in each word, I love this training because it takes the 2 key words that people really want to understand and it gives them an action plan.

I hope the next 30 days for you bring your tremendous Success and Joy.

Keeping up...

The challenge with most tools that can bring you value, is understanding the need to develop the habit of use. My goal is to get posts out each day to use this to my advantage. I have accomplished so many new things since my last post, I have just missed sharing it with you. I will do better. Thanks

Independence
With July 4th just around the corner, I started thinking about what it really means to be independent. I don't think we can ever get a real solid understanding and here is my though why.

Right now, you are reading this, you are dependent on your computer, how about the chair your sitting in, or the shoes you are wearing.

Even if we are all by ourselves, we are still dependent on the air we breath, or the food we eat. So when I hear people say, I want to be free, I want my own Independence, I kind of chuckle.

Its my opinion that the world is so much more fun when you can learn to live knowing that those around you bring you joy, they bring you value, they give you something to look forward to.

As the 4th of July comes to us here today, remember that our Independence was arrived at by a small group of people being dependent upon each other. Who do you depend on to help you make your dreams come true?

Have a great day, thanks for the smiles you have been sharing, for they showed up today.

Getting Clear

Its my perception that most of the challenge that people are facing these days, is the ability to focus. Let me see if I can explain it so it makes sense.

Stress, Concern, Anxiety, Frustration... all these and many more have us moving between 3 worlds very rapidly and by doing so creates a tremendous amount of confusion.

What are the 3 Worlds? I knew you might ask. Each one is a unique time in space, the Old World, is the Past... The Current World is the Present, and the Future World is, well, the Future.

If you do not stay focused on the tasks you have right in front of you, the activities that are building your future right now, you may miss out on something great.

Here is what happens. When in a less the truly happy place, we think about the things we could have done, or maybe what we might do different if the opportunity presents it self. You have moved from the past to the future, and while in both those mindsets, you skipped over the present, and are choosing not to be in the present.

I recommend that you do what you can to say in the Now, the here of this moment. It is there that you can influence the possible future outcomes.

Get clear on what you want and make sure that what you are doing now will bring value to that goal.

Take the next 63 seconds and focus right now.. on a goal you want, then take action on what you can do starting on the 64th second to move towards it.

Mother's Day - Has come and gone...

I can tell you from experience that peoples dreams many times are just like Holidays or special days for recognition.
Let me see if I can explain it enough to make sense.
I have a 5 year old son, Mason, and he is such a great teacher for me, it is the understanding that he has that makes this example work.

He really wants it to be his birthday, and almost everyday he asks, or even says that "tomorrow is my birthday, I have waited long enough." We have to explain to him that his b-day is not for a few months.

What does this have to do with peoples dreams? Its about always looking forward to a future event, the excitement, all the "what if" kind of thoughts and suddenly it shows up! And we come to find out that its over so quick, that we may feel we missed out on some of the event.

I have witnessed people talking about what they will do when... and if they only had this or that it would make such a big difference. Only to eventually get the "this or that" they were wanting... and nothing changes.

Make sure that you are keeping your targets in focus, that you have moved everyday closer to your destination and that you keep checking your compass to make sure that you continue on the right track.
If you do that, they you will know when you are getting closer, you will know what to look for when it gets there, and you will be able to leverage that day more then you ever thought possible.
Don't let your dreams come and go.

Twitter - Follow Friday's

Once again Twitter takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary.

Each Friday on Twitter is Follow Friday. It the opportunity to recommend other Twitterer's people you feel make good people to follow. The basis on how this is determined is completely personal.
Meaning you may find someone funny, or great info how ever you make that choice. Then you can send out a tweet in your "update" area with the suggestions.

Its Twitterquet (twitter etiquette) to put the @ symbol in front of each suggestion. This allows those that see the tweet to be able to click on them and follow them right from your update.

So if your on Twitter- Suggest some great follows for others.

If your not on twitter, then get on it, and see who gets recommended to you. Don't be surprised to see your own name tweeted out.

Till the next event

The Power of Focus

Can you remember the last time that you were so focused that you did not even remember the time, or even to eat? I would guess for most of you, it was not within the last 24 hours. Here is why I say that.

We have a tendency to just walk through life, and there are moments that require us to sprint. Then there are those moments that cause us to stop and make a decision to muscle all our energy to complete a task and nothing else matters. It appears as if everything else in the world has stopped.

We all know it has not stopped, in fact the world has continued to move along like it always has. The only difference is that we were not distracted by outside influences. We maintained a focus we are always capable of, but don't always use.

I would suggest that you spend more time getting completely focused on tasks and you will be amazed at how you move forward towards you goals faster then you ever have in the past.

If I can share some ways to begin to train your brain to allow you to focus, I will put some here.

1. Put your hand out in front of you and look at the back of it. See how long you can take in the picture of your hand until you get a "thought" other then your hand.

2. Think of one of your short term goals. Pay attention to the distracting thoughts that come into your mind. Recognize it, then see yourself pushing it away with your hand, get back to the thought of your goal and begin to see the moment in time, when the goal is complete. What will if feel like, who else is excited about it, what is the next thing you do after you know you have completed it.

3. Focus on your breath, but picture you are looking at your breath just as it is entering and exiting your nose. Your right there on edge of your nose and you can see each inhale and exhale.

These seem strange at first, as Dr Wayne Dyer says:

"Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change."

Change the way you look at Focus, and Focus will become a power part of your everyday tasks.

Thanks for being here, do me a favor. Smile as much as you can, because they will all show up in my life.
